Speaker will share his practical insights on the effective use of witness evidence in international arbitration drawing on his years of experience as counsel and arbitrator. He will consider the role of witness evidence in effective case management, contrasting between traditional common law and civil law approaches to witness evidence and present his take away from these traditions for efficient resolution of transnational / trans-cultural disputes. He will also share practical experience and thoughts on effective cross examination in international arbitration, the role of expert witnesses (party and tribunal-appointed), and the presentation of expert evidence at the hearing, including the use of witness conferencing or "hot tubbing".”
